The 2011/2012 winter season here in upstate NY was something less than spectacular this year in terms of snow, ice, and blustery weather. However, this has meant more activity than normal for WC claimants and fraudsters. Spring has arrived early with some beautiful and even record setting warm temperatures in our area, further encouraging people to get out of the house and do something – and we’ve been seeing it. This year we have seen a number of claimants out there already fishing, riding motorcycles, doing yard work and construction! Now is the perfect time to assign a little check up on that shady claimant you’ve been wondering about, and we are ready to see what they’re up to!

Welcome to Our New Home!
In 2011, we at Accurate entered our 20th year of providing premium investigative service to insurance companies, TPA’s, self-insured, and private clients throughout New York. It is an exciting time for us, which finds the company expanding into new service areas and making big upgrades in our technology both in the office and in the field in order to serve our clients more efficiently. As always, our surveillance services remain the cornerstone of our company, and we pride ourselves on being some of the best in the business when it comes to obtaining video.

Constantly Evolving.
An older pager hidden camera
While we were doing some spring cleaning in the office, we cleaned out an old storage room and discovered about 15 years worth of old and outdated/broken camera equipment. It was interesting to see how far the surveillance business has come since Accurate began in ’91. Back then, there was no GPS, no wifi, no social networking, no cell phones (carphones maybe), and hidden camera equipment involved lots of cumbersome wires and bulky recording units. We created a little display in the front window of the office with some of the big old cameras and other items. My personal favorite is the ‘pager camera’. Does anyone even have a pager anymore?
As time goes on, the technology available to an investigator seems to evolve and become obsolete at an increasingly rapid pace.
